Message to all...know what you are putting in your hair. Choose less chemicals not more! We have witnessed so many problems with DIY colour that we could write a book! Being a Master Colourist takes years of experience and practise and most of all requires a significant amount of technical knowledge.

Mid Winter Feel Good Look Good

Mid Winter Feel Good Look Good
The fringe makes a return. Not that it ever really disappeared form its 2007 arrival. But it is back in force to style up these mid winter temperatures. Best worn thick, blunt and long with either the bob, bohemian grungy edge, straight and sleek or an auro of '60's sex kitten nonchalence'.

Wednesday delights

A variety of hair looks that we at Lily Jackson Hair & Makeup are loving today.
The summer bob for 2011 with some 70's inspired volume.
A few more braids because we love them along with some imagery that gets the imagination going

Milkmaid Braid. One which is neither simple to create or easy to pull off which is why it has such staying power. It can never be over-used which is why it never quite goes away.

Vintage meets modern

From the roaring 20's to the sex kitten 60's through to the punking 80's.
Do love the edgy slide-slick tomboys adding style to any outfit!

Colour me winter

O&M an Amonia free colour range offering a cleaner way to colour your hair and the environment.
With beautiful violet, greys and pink shades we can see pastel colours softening these long winter days.
The shade of ginger is quite on trend too for these cooling winter months. Quite a rarity in an ocean of brunettes and blondes.

all kinds of wonderful! .... What we love to do

Trends 2011

All about revivals and evolutions.
The 20th century infused with quality is the dominant style for 2011 hair!

The Long Hair Braid Fixation

The trend of late for long hair has a simple and effortless appeal. With tribal inspirations it is fair to say that the braided hairstyles will be with us for some time yet. From sleek high versions to messier birds-nest takes.

A taste of the fixation in the salon

Lily Jackson's fascination with the braid and the beauty its structure holds. A simple creation with an effortless and fresh approach.

Man of the moment

2011 is showing guys to be embracing their natural wave or curl as well as the crop, which is kept effortless but not fluffy.
It is all about creating squarer shapes and texturising the hair.
Product that brings out the texture in the haircut is crucial.

1940's revived

For men it is all about the part line on the side with the hair combed from the crown forward and the fringe inspired from the 1940's quiff. The use of a gel wax is essential giving a little bit of shine and creating the wet look.

For the ladies the inspiration comes from the 40's Film Noir
